Whether you are on your own or part of a large firm, Legal Ally offers coaching services to help you build your practice.
Let’s face it, no one comes out of law school knowing how to be a lawyer. It takes years – and often embarrassing mistakes – to grow into a successful, mature practitioner. At Legal Ally, we specialize in guiding lawyers through their first ten years in practice, helping them lay the foundation for a long and successful career.
Don’t feel like you have to do it on your own.
The secret is no one does.
We have coached hundreds of lawyers during our 36 years in practice. We know what works and we know where the pitfalls are. We’ve designed our coaching program to distill all of that experience into eight focused modules that will help you build a successful practice.
- Prepare a Career Plan
In today’s market, it is more important than ever to plan your career as if it were its own business. How do you stand out from the crowd? What is your brand? Where are you going to invest?
- Design Your Practice
What is your vision of success? Where do your passions and talents lie? Connecting those pieces is key to building a sustainable practice that serves your needs as well as your clients.
- Develop a One Year Business Plan
Chart your goals and plan how you are going to execute them. Then stay the course and hold yourself accountable.
- Find Your Fit at Your Firm
Law firms come in all shapes and sizes. However, there are several things a lawyer can do to provide value to the firm while honing his or her particular practice.
- Become a Great Writer
Being able to artfully turn a phrase can turn you from a good lawyer into a great lawyer. Writing well and knowing how to craft your arguments is essential for a long and rewarding career.
- Develop Outstanding Communication Skills
Clear, precise speaking and writing is critical. Learn how to communicate confidently in court, in consultation with your clients, and with other lawyers.
- Build Your Book of Business
Whether you are a solo practitioner or part of a firm, it is imperative that you learn how to attract clients and develop profitable, long-term relationships.
- Balance Your Work and Personal Life
Practicing law is stressful, especially for young lawyers. This last module will teach you how to keep things in perspective and find the balance to achieve lasting success.
Legal Ally: Your Preferred Coaching Partner
Legal Ally is a friend, a mentor, a strategic partner, and counselor to lawyers and business proprietors who have what it takes to make an imprint on the face of the business world and need a little push and platform to start.
As a friend, we stand with young lawyers out to start their legal practice alone or as partners in a firm, giving them the much-needed support in many ways towards achieving their goals and vision.
We mentor and coach our clients to be better than they may be through the wealth of experience accrued over 36 years in practice and services.
We offer sound, well-calculated, and time-tested advice based upon research and exposure to the fields of business and law, gathered in the time we have been helping set up businesses and practices as strategic partners. We know which pits and traps lie in wait and how to overcome them.
We have counseled many lawyers and businessmen under our wings to live full lives while balancing the rigors of business and legal practice with their personal lives to get the best out of any venture in which they engage. We encourage, advise, and help our clients carry the load of setting their feet on the ground towards a profitable practice.
Looking for Attorney Mentoring?
We mentor young and inexperienced lawyers, helping them fit into the firms in which they are employed, or collaborate and be better in their own fields of expertise. We hone their skills and walk with them until their feet are firmly set on the ground. We do this through sharpening their communication and writing skills. A good lawyer should be empowered and helped to make very good arguments in both written and spoken works. This builds their confidence and aids their practice, making them outstanding and of great value to their practice and firms.
We also counsel and educate new attorneys on how to establish and maintain long-term working relationships with their clientele. This is important as it enables repeat business and referrals. This counseling also covers the many areas that may need balancing for better production and success. This balancing is of importance to lawyers who are still young in the profession, as they can find practicing law quite stressful and slightly different from the controlled environment they were used to in law school.
